Jim Kinloch [00:00:00] Hello, David. Uh, what would you expect as an answer from a hospitality business to this question? How confident are you with the employment status of your workforce?
David Du-Feu [00:00:12] Hi, Jim. Um, I think it’s a very good question. I think a number of venues in the hospitality sector would be confident on the employment status of their workforce, but equally, there would be a large number that wouldn’t be. Uh, and to clarify that a lot of the time when hospitality venues, be they a cafe, restaurant, bar, etc., take on staff, they quite often bring them in under self-employment. Now, quite often it’s it’s an easy option to do that. They think, well, they’re only going to be with us for a short period of time. So it’s simple and straightforward. But if that individual starts to work regularly, does more shifts, and almost becomes a full time member of staff, then perhaps you’re into the realms then of disguised employment. And that’s something that the service we offer can provide a solution to. And it takes away any risk or liability that you may have as a hospitality venue owner.
